An infection of the sexual organs caused by a fungus. The main symptoms are increased discharge and itching. A fungal infection can be cured with a cream or tablets. A fungal infection can be transmitted during sex but this is rare. Other causes are, for example, taking antibiotics, hormone replacement during pregnancy, taking the contraceptive pill or a weakening of the immune system.
